10 things i love #4
- happy earth day.
here’s a new print i just designed this week. it actually sold out the first day i offered it but i ordered more!!! they are available here. we started watching the new planet earth II this week. i am absolutely loving it. as an artist, i enjoy how beautifully the cameras capture each animal. the feathers, fur, patterns, water droplets, flowers, clouds, leaves….it’s so endless. it’s just brilliant. - dirty dancing.
during last weekend’s lovely blizzard, we had a movie day. we watched the new Thor (i love a good superhero movie), daddy’s home 2 (it had it’s moments) and dirty dancing. can you believe dirty dancing came out in ’87???? what? no way! it transformed me back to being 10 years old. i’ve decided to trade in my paint brushes and take up dancing. because the 10 year old me wanted to be a professional dancer when i grew up. following my dreams. just sayin’ - honeycomb.
this honey comb from trader joe’s is delightful. i’ve used it on so many things. i’ll definitely be stocking up the next time i go.
- karmazin dental.
i had a dentist appointment this week. i used to hate HATE going to the dentist. i love molly and corey and staff. they are amazing. plus i didn’t have any cavities. (they should have given me a sticker) - these two light up boxes for my new office. here and here.
i was actually studying the other day and my husband kept talking to me. i decided to search the internet for an “on air” radio sign that i can use when i was in the middle of blogging or studying. this was perfect. and so is the “applause” one. because don’t we all need to be cheered on? i was going to have mom buy these for my birthday but ended up having her pay for my apple i pad pro pen instead …adulting is hard. and i still want these. - family portraits.
i’m trying to delve into something new. family portraits. i’m still working out details. i never want to launch a product that doesn’t have all the kinks ironed out. when i sell my customer something, i want it to be top notch. as an impulsive person, it is very easy for me to jump into things heart first. one thing i’ve learned in my marketing/business courses is to make sure everything lines up business wise. as soon as i figure out pricing/formatting/printing, family portraits will be coming. i can totally see wedding invites, pregnancy announcements, christmas cards in the future!
- the 7 day forecast.
i think it may be safe to say that spring is finally here. i have a spring cleaning printable coming out on wednesday. keep an eye out for that. - sioux falls pride tshirt design.
i entered my first design contest. i was limited to 4 colors. black and white were designated as two. that was a tough one for me. especially as an artist who loves color. nothing would make me prouder to be chosen for this. fingers crossed to be given such an honor. love wins. all the time.
- my food steamer.
i use it all the time. i couldn’t live without it. here is a link to one that is similar to mine. i’ve had mine for over 10 years. i may need an upgrade soon. - this breakfast recipe.
it’s super easy. you just need cottage cheese, steamed apples (i use my steamer for this. just slice, dice, throw on some cinnamon and steam until soft) pecans and honeycomb (you can use regular honey also.) just throw some cottage cheese into a bowl, top with apples, pecans and drizzle with honey. it’s so good. i make it all the time. especially if i have apples that need to be used up. i just prep them and throw them all into the steamer and keep in a tupperware.
enjoy your week. be kind. spread love. be the light. ~chantel
