- fresh flowers.
i received these flowers from my brother for my birthday. i love daisies. i love fresh flowers. i love my brother.
- mom and dad’s big move.
the last week has been filled with loading loading loading. this week, they closed on their new abode and we started UNloading, UNloading and UNloading. it’s these moments that i’m so glad to live close. i may have a ton of things to do and online schooling to accomplish and exciting projects in the works but i will always be there for mom and dad. that’s what family does. there new place is so wonderful already. it already feels like home.
- this new planter.
i ordered it from Jenny Sue. I planted mint in it and hung it above my kitchen sink. it is the absolute cutest. so cute, i had to order 3 more. now i have to go grab some cilantro, cat nip and basil. She is offering a free shipping promo code for our customers. enter ARTMOMS at checkout for free shipping. her etsy store is here.
this week has been a total sketch-fest. i love sketching. it completely inspires me. i typically love sketching by hand but i got an ipad pro for my birthday and i am so in love. sketching has never been more fun. so between photoshop classes, blog classes and now this, my little brain is a hot mess.
- this saying.
isn’t it the cutest. i can’t wait to make it into a canvas. (sketched with my ipad pro)
- American Idol.
i continue to go back and forth with this one. i love the platform. i love watching the show. i think Lionel Richie and Luke Bryant are very nice guys. on the flip side, i am not impressed by the judging. they are building these people up and making them feel like they are the best on the show and then turning around and sending them home. notice i didn’t say anything about Katy Perry. my momma taught me “if i can’t say nothing nice, don’t say nothing at all.” my favorites so far are Maddie Pope, Jurnee and totally TOTALLY Effie Passero (she’s my top). Ada Vox’s rendition of Creep put her right up there also. i can’t believe how many good ones are performing tonight and tomorrow. i’m nervous to see who they kick off.
- my new photo prop area.
i’m loving all my new back drops and dishes. so fun. i absolutely love antiquing so it’s been super fun searching for things to use in my photos.
- this purple shampoo and conditioner.
i’m scheduled for a color soon but this helps me get by and keeps my color more ashy. i used to need to use it a lot more when i was silver/gray but this week was the first time i’ve had to use it since coloring it over a month ago
- a bit of spring.
we finally were able to golf on Thursday. our first official golf selfie of the year. (not including our golf trip down south in February. because the feel of the sun, the fading tan, and ocean breeze feels like make believe at this point)
- this pineapple salsa.
i made dinner for mom and dad this week on one of our last move nights and included this homemade pineapple salsa. it was awesome. i had planned on putting it over fish the next night for dinner but between the five of us, we ate it all. i really didn’t follow a recipe, i just threw a bunch of stuff together. i’ll list below everything that went in there.
- one whole fresh pineapple diced
- 1/2 red onion diced
- 1/2 fresh jalapeno deseeded and diced
- 1/2 red pepper diced
- 1/2 green pepper diced
- 8 smaller tomatoes or 4 big ones diced
- a bunch of cilantro. we love cilantro but use at your discretion
- salt and pepper
mix together and serve. the flavors get better and better the longer it sits. we served ours with chips but i think it would be amazing on chicken or fish or even in fish tacos.
and finally, the moment you have all been waiting for. our 5 big winners from my birthday week giveaways on Art Moms Facebook.
*winners must claim prize within one month of this announcement. (last day to claim will be may 12, 2018)
and you guys!!! notice there are only 4 giveaways? i’m completely missing friday’s giveaway. the entire post is gone.
i’m so confused. i have no idea where it went.
no email from facebook.
i guess maybe it’s like the universe’s way of telling me happy birthday.
in a really weird way.
it was this giveaway. (so weird)
don’t worry though, i’ll throw it up for a giveaway this week.
