my little gracie has our artistic talent for sure…but she is beyond a shadow of a doubt that she WILL NOT be an art moms when she grows up…(insert sad face her)
she wants to be a zoo keeper..in fact…she has the whole thing mapped and drawn out to a tee…including a HUGE amusement park, a shopping mall for mom’s like me and a animal hospital so ALL animals will be cared for (yes, including spiders and snakes she says)
but she does assure me that until her zoo is built, she will keep on drawing Art Noodle Animals….
she started her line a little over a year ago and i am so proud of the response we’ve gotten…we even started a new line of greeting cards for her
each animal is hand drawn, hand colored, named by her and signed by her
yesterday, while working, she called me up from my paint table and said “mom, i think the majority of my sales are for girls…so this whole batch is going to be for boys….so as she finishes each one, she brings them to me at my paint table and says the code word “raindrop” (this she adapted right from the beginning…it’s to let me know she has one finished)….
as she starts telling me names for each one, my heart sinks….why? because she is naming them after nintendo characters and i honestly didn’t care for the names…so i tell her nicely…i love “YOUR” names
now let me tell you this…..it did not go over well at all….she takes NO advice from me….seriously…NONE…she thinks it’s the worse thing ever when i try to help her with her business….she always says “mom, it’s my business…you do yours, i’ll do mine..” ~Even once saying “FINE, YOU RUN MY BUSINESS THEN AND YOU DO MY ANIMALS” eek…
so after naming the cutest love birds ever “Pikachu and Zero Suit Samus” (after two characters in Super Mario Smash Bros, we came into quite the argument…. and i sat at my paint table and thought to myself……”what am i doing???”
so i pulled her back down and i told her that i fully support her names (in my mind thinking…good or bad) and i let her know how proud of her i am for taking a chance and trying new things….i seen her eyes light up and she went back to work….the next animal she brought me was a koala and she said is name was “META NIGHT”
ZIPPED MY LIPS…..
my little daring….you keep taking those risks….while momma keeps learning….my little teacher
