I’ve had a whole day to dip into my creativity….wondering if it started out because of the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes I made this morning for breakfast….could be! I’ve got about 2 1/2 weeks before our next big art show and the stress is starting to kick in! So, i question why my creativity always peaks right before a big show….i seriously need NEED to be working on our best sellers but instead i’m having fun playing with colors! I spent all day on 3…YEP 3 pieces…..but i think they are gonna be big hits! (per our facebook groupies)
we have yet to figure out pricing….which is one of the toughest parts of our jobs! every single thing we do is hand painted (see our dilly process here for an idea of what kind of system we go through) …we are told time and time again that our prices are FABULOUS…some people even tell us we are too cheap….but we’d rather sell our items than sit on them….i will have to say though, after figuring out the turn around on our product, we do question being too cheap…sometimes it’s extremely hard to keep up with….WE ARE BUSY…BUT WE ARE BUSY DOING WHAT WE LOVE! so in conclusion…our prices are not being raised and we flourish in the idea of seeing your smiles as you walk away from our art booth and stores….just knowing we are adding some color into people’s lives is enough for us!
tonight was supposed to be a girl’s spa night for gracie and i, but it turned into a girl’s paint night….i can’t tell you how much my heart swells with pride as she sits next to me painting…..my little darling….who truly considers herself an ART MOM! we call her ART NOODLE….but i think she may be a PINK PICASSO!

For dinner, i went back to one of my old recipes…one of my FAVORITE recipes from back in the day…it’s actually a weight watchers recipe and i used to eat it all the time…it’s been ages since i’ve made it and tonight we were reunited and it felt so good!
to start with~ steam, grill or saute some chicken breasts and cut up into pieces and boil some fettuccine…while the noodles are boiling, start on the sauce
- 1 T olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 T flour
- 1 1/3 cup skim milk
- 1 1/4 cup real parmesan
- 2 T light cream cheese
saute garlic in olive oil for one minute. stir in flour. gradually add milk stirring with whisk until blended. cook until thickened and bubbly (about 8 min) ~ i normally have to add some cornstarch mixed with cold water to the sauce because it’s not thick enough for me. add 1 cup parm. stir until cheese melts. add cream cheese to pan. cook over low heat until it melts….serve over noodles with cut up chicken and remaining parm…i’ve also made with shrimp and crab….excellent!
