Fresh Strawberry Lime Swizzlers and an intro to summer~

 

so it begins, swimsuit, sunscreen….and *gasp* venturing in deeper water than last year…..she dives in fearlessly while mommy fearfully holds her breath~ her little fish, with summer waves and princess braids~OH HOW I LOVE HER~
and the perfect treat to end a perfect day:
FRESH STRAWBERRY LIME SWIZZLERS
for these you need:
  • 1 tall glass
  • Lots of ice
  • Sprite
  • 1/2 lime
  • 3-4 tablespoons Strawberry Sauce (see recipe below)

Fill a glass with ice. Squeeze the juice of one lime into the glass over the ice..just a few squirts into each cup. Fill the glass about halfway with Sprite. Add 3-4 tablespoons of strawberry sauce. Top the glass off with Sprite and add more strawberry sauce if desired. Garnish with lime wedges and some whipped cream and of course….SPRINKLES!

~thinking we’ll make french toast for dinner and polish off this strawberry sauce…always a master planner!

strawberry sauce…super easy…super quick!

  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
slice up strawberries and add to a saucepan…stir in sugar, water and vanilla and bring to a simmer…cook for 5 minutes…breaking down strawberries with a spoon…remove from heat and let sit for about 10 minutes to let cool….add into a blender and pulse until desired consistency…pour into a container….works wonderful with
  • pancakes
  • angel food cook
  • chocolate chip waffles
  • ice cream
  • cheesecake
  • banana splits
  • and our favorite FRESH STRAWBERRY LIME SWIZZLERS
