taverns with baked sweet potato fries and Pinapple Clouds

My husband loves BBQ’S…he calls them Taverns…I’ve never heard of them being called Taverns….sloppy joes~YES…but never Taverns…has anyone else heard of that? It really ruffles my feathers though that I can only make Taverns using a can of Manwich….BORING! So, instead of aiming to please, i made up my own version….and in my opinion…they were WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER….we made them while he was at guards last weekend…and you know what he thought when he tried them…..HA…nothing…because Gracie and I ate them all! I served them with sweet potato fries….match made in Heaven!

Ingredients:

1 lb. of hamburger
1/2 onions diced
garlic
1/2 cup beef broth
squirt of heinz 57
a shake of soy sauce
a squeeze of ketschup
a jiggle of  worsteschire
2 T brown sugar
lots of pepper
some sea salt
buns
pickles optional

Directions:

cook hamburger and onions…add rest of ingredients and simmer until liquid reduces…serve on a bun…feed your tummy! top with pickles if desired!

Serve with Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients:

2 sweet potatoes diced into thin wedges…just wash ‘em and leave the skins on
throw them in a zip lock bag and add
a few shakes of olive oil
3T bread crumbs
salt pepper
cinnamon sugar

Directions:

Lay on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil…..Cook at 425 for 30 min

And because i rarely serve a meal without dessert….here is one of my favs…..so easy….it’s another one that the kiddos can help with….we couldn’t fit our all into the mini pie shells, so guess what gracie got in her cold lunch the next day? and she said…”mom, that was awesome!” anytime you get an “AWESOME” on a healthy dessert…is a “win” in my book!

Pinapple Clouds (weight watchers recipe)
Ingredients:
1 can crushed pineapple…drained really well
1 box fat free sugar free instant vanilla pudding
1 cup of light sour cream
graham cracker pie crusts…i used minis
whipped cream and sprinkles

Directions:

mix pineapple, sour cream and pudding in a mixing bowl, pour into graham cracker pie crusts…top with whip cream and sprinkles…super duper easy and wayyyyyyyyy yummy!
